Many may have heard the story of the Wild Woman of the Woods, who is known by many names, one of which is “Pitch Woman.” It is said she steals children and puts them to sleep by putting pitch across their eyes and throwing them into her basket on her back. This work by Hjalmer Wenstob is a child stolen by pitch woman, we hope it doesn’t give an nightmares, but hope it does keep the children from playing in the dark woods!
